Why You Shouldn’t Go To Bed With Wet Hair

You may have never even guess this, but there are three really good reasons you should never allow yourself to go to bed with your hair wet. You may be thinking to yourself, “Well, I take a shower before bed and usually dry it off before I go to sleep.”

If that’s the case, then make sure your hair is absolutely dry before you lay your weary head to rest upon your pillow. Otherwise, you may find yourself waking up in the middle of the night full of regret and malice on how you should’ve dried your hair a little better!

Split Ends

This may or may not be the least of your concerns, but when you lay your wet hair onto your pillow, friction from writhing in your slip can often damage your hair immensely which can cause it to split.

Unwanted Infections

Your pillow is the ideal place for bacteria proliferation that is caused by the pillow absorbing your sweat, natural oils from your skin, and even your dead skin cells. Combine all of those with wet hair on the pillow, this is the perfect breeding ground for developing infections.

Middle Of The Night Headache

That’s right, going to bed with wet hair can actually cause you to have a headache. Your body temperature tends to decrease to the temperature of the room where you sleep and in the first stages of sleep, increasing in the REM stage. If your hair is wet during this process your head won’t be able to adjust to your body temperature which can then lead to a severe headache that can keep you up all through the night.

So as you can see, it is very important for you to dry your head before you decide to go to sleep.
